Kidney control of homeostasis
National Centre of Competence in Research
The Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Kidney Control of Homeostasis (Kidney.CH) is a nationwide research network bringing together leading specialists in experimental and clincial nephrology from all Swiss Universities teaching medicine and from corresponding University Hospitals. It is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
The long-term objective of this research initiative is to advance knowledge and understanding of the renal homeostatic mechanisms controlling body composition (milieu intérieur) in health and disease.
By using an integrated physiological approach, a rational basis shall be provided for the potential development of novel preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in patients with chronic kidney disease.
