Population Genetics
Head: Murielle Bochud, University of Lausanne
This technical platform supports members of NCCR-Kidney.CH and offers advice on epidemiological and genetic studies on the general population. Genome wide association studies (GWAS) are a powerful method for the unbiased identification of genetic loci associated with complex traits in the general population and in genetic isolates enriched in variants with large effects.
The platform gives access to data from genetic isolates (in Europe and North America) and urban populations (e.g. Swiss CoLaus and SKIPOGH cohorts). This platform takes advantage of the structures already established at the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Lausanne.
