Basic & Clinical Research

We use an integrative physiological approach to learn more about the central role that the kidneys play in the homeostatic regulation of body fluid composition. The research of Kidney.CH is organized in 3 work packages, each of which focuses on a kidney centred homeostatic theme.

    Scientific Strategy of the SKSC

Based on the complex pathogenisis of stone disease, areas of novel technological developments, open questions, and the type of data collected by the Swiss Kidney Stone Cohort (SKSC), several areas for intensive research have been identified based on the SKSC samples and data.

    1. Genetic analysis of kidney stone disease, associated disorders, and metabolic traits
    2. Dietary impact on kidney stones
    3. Kidney stone associated diseases
    4. Impact of therapeutic interventions
